It is a released part of KDE SC, but nobody seems to have packaged or

Yes using the new API means we can finally have cross desktop password storage. \
Gnome Keyring already supports secret service DBus API.

It has a new DBus API and a new library with API for clients.
In Kubuntu it's in the kubuntu-ppa/experimental PPA, I'm not aware of other distros \
that have packaged it.

ksecrets does not seem to have a GUI or config tool.
