Benjamin agreed with the patch, but I don't know it he applied it.  
According to http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdelibs/kdecore/kernel/kkernel_mac.cpp?view=log 
  it was not applied.
I for myself don't have an kde svn account.
