Patch reverted because it broke all our Windows builds.

I do not have more time to dedicate for this before 4.4.0 final. But, like=

I said, we do know that QFile, QFileInfo and QDir are far too expensive=20
and we do want to take a good look at them for Qt 4.5.0.
