Right. I know.

I want to have a generic implementation that is a static list, with 
wildcards. That should suffice for most applications, except web 
browsers.

Web browsers need to implement PAC support (and possibly WPAD).

Then there's another implementation I want which is an extended PAC: it's 
like PAC but for more than just HTTP.
