I agree with this, and suggest using mousewheel to shade/unshade. I
feel that to be more intuitive than raise/lower windows.
Also, can we change the window title when shaded, e.g. "Title" to
"[Title]" so users can tell from the taskbar that the window is shaded
and not disappeared. Maybe this can help when a shaded titlebar is
overlapping another windows's titlebar, and the user wants to close
the second one in one swift stroke. I think I saw this in
compiz/beryl.
