Thats a good point, feel free to staff up the "choose a VCS system" working 
group. 

Seriously, I personally like git and use it for most of the stuff that I don't 
do in KDE SVN. During this years aKademy I've also converted kdelibs 
kdepimlibs and kdebase to a git repository and they're really tiny and nice 
(kdelibs is ~ 50MB). 

Unfortunately, there seem to be several obstacles in the conversion, and the 
resulting git history was not complete. I  think with some time for fixing 
that (volunteers wanted) we could offer a bidirectional gateway (I would love 
to see that personally).
