there is still libkscan which is used in krita, kword, etc to provide scann=
ing=20
input. it provides essentially all the useful parts of kooka without the mo=
re=20
painful parts of kooka. the only thing it's lacking really is OCR, which=20
kooka did have to some degree of utility.

a thin stand alone "wrapper app" around libkscan, much as kwrite is around=
=20
katepart, would probably be welcome.
