It is in line with the concept of "alt-F for File menu" so easier > to remember/discover. I like this idea. Unfortunately it conflicts with the shortcut Alt-Enter for the properties dialog of the currently selected item (which is a standard shortcut in GNOME and used identically in Konqueror). We cannot use Alt-Space either, since that is eaten by the window manager in some KDE shortcut themes and in GNOME. I don't mind using something different from F10, as long as we automatically enable F10 for the menu when a KDE application is started under GNOME or under Windows, while assuring that there is no conflict with an application-side use of F10. I have no idea how to do this technically in a reliable way, though. Agreeing with GNOME on standard shortcuts for all of Unix sees to be a more promising approach to me. Olaf
