On user forums, you have a lot of problems of people stuck in the middle of
the splashscreen because they have a broken installation. It is usually
difficult to help them.

It would be nice to have a magic key (Del, ESC, whatever) that you could hit
during the splashcreen that would replace the splashscreen by a console
with detailed results of the startup process.
