But if you re-read some of the mails in this thread, you'll notice that the discussion has long ago moved beyond the original topic, and covered general ideas about what sort of functionality we/KDE need. The question also was raised, if it is technically feasible to transform a "reader"-/"viewer"-type application into an "editor" on the fly by just loading additional functionality as needed.
