One of the few problems with the Plastik style is that the visual difference
between active and inactive tabs in a tabbar is very little. Other styles
makes more difference.
As for using Qt assistant as example:
Frankly, any application that has two tabbed panes (or in any other way
displays two tabbars in one main window) is inaccessible pr design.
That said, browsers/apps doesn't tend to visualize the focused frame, probably
because users complain that it looks ugly (It does because we get windows
with too many visible frames. Kate has the same problem, as do KMail and many
other KDE apps).
Older versions of netscape drew a (red) line around a focused frame, and i
believe konqueror did at some point in time too.
