I've tried it now. Scribus cannot import PDF files. It can import Postscript files,
but only the first page of the file, as this feature is clearly meant to place EPS
graphics into the scribus documents, and not to edit existing documents.

Also would you really tell a person that just wants to split a big PDF file into two
parts to learn how to use a Desktop Publishing Program? Learning how to do
it on the console with pdftk would be far easier.

While that feature would be definitely great, it would not work for this purpose.
If you would import a TeX generated PDF file, and edit it in KWord, you would
end up with a Document that has "Wordprocessor Typesetting", which is not
of the same quality.
