Hello.

I'd like to suggest a *BIG* new feature for inclusion in KDE 3.5.4

The version has been already released alone (so tested) and merged in trunk

A Kopete 0.12.1 is going to be released really soon, so it will really be w=
ell=20
tested.

We would like to merge it in KDE 3.5 in order to make the maintaining easie=
r=20
for distributor and for us. (and probably for translators)

Kopete 0.11 (the version actually in KDE 3.5) is not maintained anymore, an=
d=20
bugfixes are not backported since Kopete 0.12 as been released

Kopete 0.12 fix many issue:
=2D the new theme engine is much faster than the old one, and fix some desi=
gn=20
bugs.
=2D The Yahoo and Jabber protocol had lot of improvements
=2D Lot of others improvements


I'm aware that backporting a full version is a big change.

It has been suggested to backports only parts of Kopete 0.12=20
I am personally against this because it will be difficult to extract part. =
and=20
this will not make it  easy for maintenance.


So with this mail I'm asking to the TWG if we should backport or not.
