It would do the same in kde3.
So why is aboutData null for you?

programName() doesn't include About. Makes me wonder where the About comes from
in the current code, too... Ah, probably from the code in KHelpMenu::aboutApplication(), but
that's in the case where there is no aboutdata, the code says. Strange.
