That would be great.
There has also been some work by Mosfet on kde-graphics-devel. If I remember 
it correctly he did some "repacking" of imlib2 stuff into a Image lib for 
KDE.
We really need fast software gfx effects in KDE, maybe even with GPU accel if 
available, just like OSX has.
