I disagree here.

KDE3's lifetime is no more than one year from now. And, even though there=20
will still be people using it for years (think Debian...), we will not be=20
actively maintaining its API.

So, I wouldn't recommend adding a new class now for a hypothetical use,=20
given the fact that the class will probably undergo an enormous=20
transformation for KDE4.

URNs won't change, but your new class will certainly do so, for KDE4.

If necessary, the class can be moved to kdelibs later on. So, I'd=20
recommend you commit to kdenonbeta now.

So, for now, I'd recommend you don't commit it to kdelibs. It seems we are=
=20
aiming at a mostly-feature-frozen kdelibs 3.5 (excepted areas like=20
khtml).
