Come on. Don't you think we've all got better things to do than hack over a build system ? Did you see anybody even suggesting something along the lines of "wow, think of all we could do with a real scripting language" ? Everybody wants a simpler build system that just won't stand in their way, nothing more. Such doom-oriented prophecies always prove false. The same were said about KDE and C++ when it started.
