Another way to solve the "advanced options" issue is to add a getter to 
KCModule, say detailedView(), which returns a QWidget containing "advanced" 
options(not a dialog, that would be a policy decision). KCModuleProxy could 
then add a widget in a _consistent_ place such as right-bottom corner(users 
scan from top-left to bottom and we want it to be discovered last?) and show 
the detailed view in a consistent manner too. This could be combined with a 
discrete widget for activation, such as a link. Of course, this is only 
speculation.

But I think one should be cautious with proposing solutions; the problems KDE 
has with GUI design runs deep, and the solutions are not to merely change a 
designer file or two...
