How about a standard shortcut for stop animations in Konqueror, too?
Currently I'm using Shift-Esc because Esc and Ctrl-Esc are already taken, 
by "Stop" and the global process table, respectively. 
IIRC Esc stopped animations in Netscape 4.  
I didn't find any equivalents in Mozilla or Opera 
but I'm also no expert for those two browsers
(I googled for shortcut tables, though).
