Maybe, but having a solution is better then "soon the best solution!".   Can 
we limit kdialog to only use the file:// ioslave?  If so then it "works". :-D  
Especially sense it shows KDE attempting to intigrate.  Later on we can have 
the perfect solution, but for now we can point to this.
