Both sound OK to me - but that's surely a matter of taste.

The very fact that the home folder in UNIX and Linux slang is called
the "home directory" (since there a folder is called "directory")
does not mean that this slang is the only possible way of addressing
these things.

I am not religious about this but the expression "this sounds bad" (or
good, resp.) does not look like a strong reason: people just get used to
some strange terms (like "directory") and then another word does not 
sound familiar but funny - but this feeling will change over 
time...  ;-)
