Any app new to KDE will have a smaller user base, of course.

But I would suggest that a modeler is important to have in KDE for one 
reason:  It provides a way to have 3D KDE art producable and modifiable 
with KDE tools, while in the past some KDE art has been created with 
proprietary tools that won't run on a KDE platform.
