Or check here, what I would call the first official use of the term :) http://developer.kde.org/news/weekly/1999/5/ If I remember correctly 1.1.2 was the first release where tackat was involved, and because of this the need of a release dude arised. I was kind of managing the releases before that, but mhk was in fact the first one to give releases a time frame - and in fact I was still doing the tar ball, but only those extracting the tars saw the kulow/students ;-) Someone needs to write a paper, so we get these young lads educated.
