I expierence the same problem for around 3 weeks also on my machine. But 
not only with konsole. Also for knode, kmail, screen unlocking dialog.

For kmail and knode only when I use fixed width fonts. Which konsole 
also uses.

When I hit a key the CPU usage goes up to 100% for a second or so.
