By wipping it won't prevent from swapping and ending up on disk, I don't know 
aobut a core dump.
To prevent swaping you can use mlock (man mlock).
I've made a patch for using mlock that I've sent to kde-core-devel but wasn't 
aproved yet (the mail) so I also sent it to kde-devel as I also will send 
this mail. Please, take a look at it (the patch).
