For=20 instance, imagine the confusion the use of MB and MiB side by side would=20 create. And Konqueror reporting one number while ls reports another... And not discussing whether it should be done or not, just imagine the sheer= =20 amount of work it would generate just to find all the places where the bina= ry=20 calculation is made. It would be a lot easier to change into the=20 funny-sounding units than to go decimal...
