I wonder if we can do this reliable since the action that the application 
takes may differ depending on *where* the icon gets dropped.

We could of course do a restore when you hover over a minimized taskbar entry 
while dragging. Just as we do with the desktops.

Hi,
one of the things I miss in KDE:
In Windows: Drag a file from Windows Explorer onto the minimized version
of a program (what are these called?), the app will maximize, then drop
the file onto the (canvas of the) app => the file gets opened by the app.
