I decided to test every applet tonight.  This was not thorough.  My first fix 
was the previously posted knewsticker fix.  However there are many many 
problems.  They include:

1)  KWeather - displays a corrupt string and doesn't indicate if there is an 
error obtaining the weather file.  I had input a valid code but it appears 
that the server just doesn't have it online.  Rather irritating, and the 
corrupt  year in the "Weather Report as of..." string really looked bad.

2) Wrong names on applets:  kscore, kpf, kmixapplet, kcharselect, kdictapplet  
This causes a big problem because the configfile name is wrong since it is 
based on the applet lib name.

3) KPF - select "New Server..."  and for some reason I see the string "Specify 
the" half cut off above the separator at the top.  Also, LMB on the icon when 
running pops up the menu.  The only way to remove this menu is to click 
elsewhere or hit escape.  We should be closing this menu if the user clicks 
the same button again instead of simply closing and reopening.

4) The taskbar embedded in kicker has the same problem with the menu button 
that it adds.  As does knewsticker.  It's rather annoying and inconsistent.  
The handle on the applet doesn't behave that way, so it shouldn't either.

5) KMixapplet seems really weird.  Here it is only taking up half the panel.  
That's half in the vertical sense.  It makes the controls a bit too small to 
use. :)

6) KSportsTicker has quite some layouting/widget size problems in the settings 
dialog.  It also doesn't launch the settings dialog from the 
applethandle->Preferences.  I'm not even sure how to get this to load any 
sports too.  From the looks of it, it's getting an error from 
errdocs.excite.com.  There are also loads if i18n() issues, and it doesn't 
return back to the proper league upon restarting.  There is at least one 
memory leak.

7) Settings dialogs for applets are appearing on the wrong screen in Xinerama.

8) Click on the applet handle for an applet on a child panel.  Select 
Panel->Add->Applet->anything.  It adds it to the _main_ panel of Kicker.  
Isn't that rather odd?

9) Missing icon on "about" pages - most of them.  Is there a default one?

10) KTimeMon - layouting bug on the third tab of the configuration panel.  For 
all I can tell, this is a Qt bug.

11) KWorldWatch About dialog has a small layouting issue and the OK button 
doesn't behave properly.  It closes on buttonDown instead of a click().

I'm tired now.  I would appreciate any help if someone can help with this 
stuff.
