No it doesn't assume everyone sits in the same subnet. I think what you're referring is the network scanning facility. What it does is scanning the network by subnet-blocks, each block consisting of the addresses 103.128.45.[1-254] (for example). However the root part can be changed from the GUI using the "Configure" button at the appropriate location. So you can scan any subnet you want. However, if you could help me to port the code of kwmsocketutil.cpp to KExtendedSocket, I would be grateful. Bye.
