But you must still change the desktop files to represent the name of the app, 
and if you want to do the submenus for all kind of apps, you will end in a 
mess of menus.
I think all desktop should be named like Texteditor (kate), Webbrowser 
(konqueror), Media Player (noatun) and the submenus are additional.
It will be some work, but only with this we have a real visible link for the 
user between the appnames and their function (submenus will be nice to in 
some places where we have a lot of apps doing the same stuff)
