Hi all,

I've been having some trouble getting the kfontinst kcmshell module to work
when not running as the root user. The reproducer steps are:

1. log is using a CVS HEAD KDE 3 environment, not as root.

2. Invoke the Control Centre->System->Font Installer

3. Observe and select the "administrator mode" button

4. provide root password

5. Observe "Loading..." followed by the right hand pane displaying the usual
startup graphic rather than reloading the font installer as root.

Craig Drummond tracked down the fact that if the user disables access controls
(using xhost+), then step 5 correctly reloads the font installer as root.
IIRC, the "xhost+" was not needed previously (say a few weeks ago). So, is
this new behaviour expected?

Thanks, Shaheed
