From kde-core-devel Mon Nov 12 21:14:55 2001 From: Ian Reinhart Geiser Date: Mon, 12 Nov 2001 21:14:55 +0000 To: kde-core-devel Subject: [RFC] Unified Application Scripting Interface X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-core-devel&m=100560087314087 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings As many of you know I have been working on adding many new DCOP interfaces to KDE 3.0. Some of you also know I have been working on different approaches to automate and expand KDE. I have attached a link to the current project I am proposing. It mixes the concepts of KParts Plugins and DCOP scripting. Please review the document and let me know about what you think. I would like to commit the interface and the script loader classes this week sometime. http://www.geocities.com/geiseri/scriptinterface.pdf This document is mainly for the scripting interface and its potential. The script loader is something that is a convenience thing and I am still not complete with that. Realisticly each script engine can be loaded just the same as normal KParts, so the loader is just an addition to make addition of the scripting facility easier and more consistent. For those intereseted in helping with current development I have a 12K cvs diff that contains my current progress. Thanks - -ian reinhart geiser p.s. So far there are shell script and python script engines, I hope to see more follow. - -- ================================ Ian Reinhart Geiser KDE Developer http://www.kde.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE78DvPPy62TRm8dvgRAuoDAJ0bYQLNcozyQ1OLcFKAtxBtSASJZgCfXeYC YS1bRtQt0v9yA82d4TeBZKE= =FEa7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
