I'm sure some people here would like to learn more about this. ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Subject: Bug#32296: Konqueror doesn't start Bug #32296 Date: Thu, 27 Sep 2001 17:02:57 -0700 From: James Richard Tyrer To: 32296@bugs.kde.org Cc: kde-linux@mail.kde.org I have tracked down the problem. The file: "startkde" in the kdebase module of KDE_2_2_BRANCH contains the line: LD_BIND_NOW=true kdeinit +kcminit +knotify If this is changed (back) to (two lines): LD_BIND_NOW=true kdeinit +kcminit knotif then the problem goes away. It also works to add a second call to: "kdeinit": LD_BIND_NOW=true kdeinit +kcminit +knotify kdeinit But this causes other problems. Perhaps there is a problem with: "kdeinit".
