Yes, and I realized that there is also the case where the filter is invoked from
the command line, and in that case it has to pop up its own dialog.

Maybe we should just drop the idea of integrating into KFileDialog, and simply
pop up a dialog after the filename has been chosen. Less hassle, more screen
space, and allows to use the same dialog in all cases (including when
starting a filter from commandline).
