Ahh, so there really was intent behind it ;-)

Nothing is strange with a "disable-shared enable-static enable-debug
enable-profiling" build ;) It fails to load most modules, and wasn't
installed, so also no .desktop or .xml files ;-) Shouldn't happen under
normal circumstance.
