monstor commit which greatly improves design.  It also makes everything else compile.
Fixes a bug, by accident (but I don't mind :)

It's still somewhat untested, but from what I can tell, so far, it's in
it's best state for a long time, very stable too. I'm impressed by this all
right now too! :)
