The groove looks well implemented to me: for comparison the original style:

You are right on this one. Any idea why you didn't notice this when 
looking at my style? Well train your eye by trying to find out 
what's different except for the darker color. Then you'll notice
the tiny flaw and the reason why your beveled buttons look 
a little bit more noisy.
I admit that it's just a small thing but that's what makes designing
good styles much more difficult than designing good icons. If you deal with 
very tiny pixmaps it's really hard to get the best out of it and you have to 
take care of every pixel you touch. 
The larger the image becomes the easier it is to paint something 
impressive ...
