KDE_VERSION_STRING - don't use this for comparisons, it's only for output
KDE_VERSION_MAJOR (currently 0 until we ship 1.0)
KDE_VERSION_MINOR (currently 99, versions with same major and minor are binary and source compatible
KDE_VERSION_RELEASE (for different versions within the same major and minor number)
