 That rather doesn't make sense. The spec numbers desktops as 0-(max-1), but 
the KDE API maps them to 1-max, for whatever historical reason. Which means 
that Compiz would have to claim the current desktop is -1.

 Also, would it be possible to fix this in the right place, instead of 
patching whichever place the problem affects? This is either a Compiz bug or 
kdelibs/kdeui bug, more probably the sooner.
