Yeah, don't blame Steve for this ;-) I was the one who suggested the solution 
he used.

As I tried to explain rather badly before, I was under the impression that 
only math.h and the float functions supported inlined machine code. When I 
looked at cmath's header I saw not only it supported it but for both float 
and double. Obviously superior.

I'm rather happy. I got two good tips yesterday: about cmath and 
QVarLengthArray for a stack based allocation. Going to do that next :)
