QIODevice::errorString() returns a QString. Its encoding is always 
Unicode, which is also always the correct encoding.

There is no encoding conversion between a QString and another.

If your QString doesn't contain the proper text, there was an error 
somewhere else. In this case, somewhere in Qt. File a bug.
