this is a problem with uic in qt 3.3.5, not the UI files. i've put together a 
patch for uic that fixes this, and trolltech is on it as well. my patch, 
should you wish to use it, is avaiable at bugs.kde.org, or by following this 
direct link:

the patch will eat babies and grown elephants, but at least kdebase will 
compile for you. all things in life are made up of trade-offs.
