i was going to blame kwin, until i decided the systray was a better target. at 
the last moment i decided to blame X instead. =P

i wasn't refering to "X11 the protocol" but the environment in general. 
watching for "[modified]" is rather lame, and apps that set the caption all 
the time are even more lame. =)

or maybe it's just that it's 04:00 and i'm crabby.
