So my mom and dad are are the more important target group than 
experienced mail users?

I would like to find a solution which fits for both groups. What about 
my suggestion of having two empty lines, one with To and one with Cc?

Alternatively we could also try to remember, when a user changed the 
second line to Cc and only then show Cc as default for the second line.
