CVS commit by zander:

Updated to a more correct text and point to the old version since the new
version (in the subdirs) is not quite correct and seems to be unmaintained
currently.

-
Usability Guidelines 1.0

-

- The 1.0 version of the Guidelines is the one active in
- development, and which KDE applications must conform to. It
- can be browsed here.
-

-

- The Guidelines is also available
- in PDF format.

-
Usability Guidelines Working Draft

-
-
The Guidelines for browsing are available here. The
- version is a draft, and is soon to become version 1.0.

+
The Human Interface Guidelines are part of an important set of documents
+ which describe how KDE applications behave and look. The guidelines document
+ knowledge gathered by KDE developers as well as experts in the various fields
+ that these guidelines touch.

-
-
-
Improving the Guidelines

-

- Does the Guidelines contain errors, needs to cover an issue
- or in some other way could use improvement? Do by no
- means hesitate to submit a
- bug report(on "UIG"), or send an email to the mailinglist
- kde-usability.
-

-
Helping Out

-
KDE does always need help on the usability front, and every
- hand on the task is appreciated.
- This page
- is a good start, a look at the current open <a \
href="http://bugs.kde.org/simple_search.cgi?id=usability+hig&openonly=1">usability \
bug reports is also an entry point.
+
KDE is serious about consistency \
and high standards of usability throughout + its suite of applications. Therefor \
a group of experts have recently been formed + to create just such a guide, and do \
so in the open source manner that KDE was + formed in.

+
+
While a standards complient guideline is being created the version that has \
been + the KDE styleguide for two major versions is still online and largely up to \
date. That + guide can be found
+ here.
