Improved code completion looking quite good now.  The new implementation
has improved behaviour (except for bugs not yet encountered), such as allowing
for navigating within the completion text without loosing the completion box;
in fact you can move around the text and the completion box adjusts accordingly.

It is also significantly faster than the old code.

Found and fixed a bug (some methods of direct setting of the cursor position not
leading to the proper signals being emitted) in the smart cursor code.
