Maybe. I didn't see there is a BR already, just had problems connecting and
tried to figure out why :-)
I tried with a real Messenger and got a message saying that I need to download
a new version to continue the connection, so I tried bumping the version in
kopete and it worked.
The FAQ on messenger.msn.com still says (or did so yesterday at least) that
you need at least 5.0, but it seems that info is outdated:
* 6.1 is out and its "What's New" page mentions a security fix
* the FAQ explains the requirement for a current version with MS's security
policy. *eg*

Cheers,
Malte, happy to have back DSL since yesterday

PS: The message box telling that I got disconnected from MSN is very annoying
as my IP changes every 24h so I'm bound to get disconnected once a day. What
about silently attempting an auto-reconnect instead?
I tried to check if there's something in the prefs to do this, but whenever I
select "Configure Kopete", it segfaults; guess I should recompile with debug
and see why.
