   It might be a good idea to define these in portable.cpp for people doing 
porting from more unique hardware.

  Ok suspend sounds correct, which is what I did.  I'd like to get a sort of 
standby mode too.  I know that it's possible to power off the display for 
instance, which is probably a good start at implementing standby.
