We're having an opinion on a political vote, no?

That doesn't make it less political.

But can I add a credit to my mom for having supported me for so long? My girlfriend?

I'm getting the impression that the majority of people here at N7Y don't
care about the website defacement, so they shouldn't care about maintainer
endorsements in KAboutData either. Regardless of whether your opinion on
these matters, the rules should be the same.

If one stays, the other should be allowed to stay. If one is removed, the
other can be removed.
