Sure, but you never know the source of the SIGPIPE. It could be caused by one 
of the libraries. SlaveBase assumes that it is always an error. It isnt. For 
example SLP uses TCP connections and the server is free to close the 
connection (usually after 5 minutes of inactivity). The client will then 
re-connect or use UDP, it is not an error, but the application will get a 
SIGPIPE. Similar effects may be possible with other network protocols..
